After 12 years in the moving industry, founder Kevin saw firsthand how often people were let down: poor communication, careless handling, and crews that treated someone’s belongings like boxes on a conveyor belt. He knew it didn’t have to be that way.
So he built the company he would hire for his own family.

Kevin is Anderson through and through. A T.L. Hanna High School graduate, Tri-County Technical College alum, and Clemson University Economics graduate, he’s spent the last 18+ years putting down roots in the community he grew up in. Electric City Movers LLC isn’t a franchise or a corporate operation, it’s a locally owned, family-run business built to serve the people Kevin calls neighbors.
The company’s name draws from Anderson’s proud nickname, “The Electric City,” and its brand reflects exactly what Kevin set out to deliver: reliability, energy, and professionalism. As the tagline says – let us lighten your move.
Why He Started It
The inspiration behind Electric City Movers LLC is personal. Kevin’s wife, daughter, and mother are the heartbeat of the company, a constant reminder of why doing things the right way matters. Starting from scratch with nothing but hard work, consistency, and a commitment to raising the bar, Kevin’s goal was simple: bring a high-quality, premier moving experience to the town he grew up in. A service locals can actually trust.
More Than a Moving Company
Kevin is deeply invested in the Anderson community beyond the business. He’s an active member of BNI and the local Chamber of Commerce, and regularly volunteers and sponsors community events. Some of Electric City Movers’ most meaningful moments have come outside of work entirely, delivering truck loads of water, food, and clothing to North Carolina families affected by Hurricane Helene, and helping move over three tons of canned goods for AIM’s annual food drive.
When he’s not building the moving company, Kevin runs a portable mini golf business available for weddings and corporate events. You’ll also find him on the golf course, out on a hiking trail, or exploring a new restaurant somewhere in the Upstate.

How far in advance should I book my move?
As much notice as possible is preferred. We recommend 4-6 weeks during the summer season, and 2-4 weeks during the winter season.
Are there any extra fees I should know about (stairs, long carry, elevator, etc.)?
We do not charge extra fees for stairs, long carry or elevators. However, these variables take moves longer to complete (more billable time)
What packing services do you offer (full packing, partial packing)?
We offer full packing or partial packing if you just want certain items packed.
Can you disassemble and reassemble furniture?
We disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed. Some common items are beds, desks, dressers with mirrors, and dining tables.
Do I need to reserve elevator or loading dock time?
Reserving elevator, dock time, and parking spaces make moves go more efficiently, reducing the overall time of your move.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Card (3.5% processing fee), and check. We do not take checks for load only jobs or moves going into storage.
Are you locally owned and operated?
Yes, we are locally owned and operated.
What is your minimum booking time?
We have a 2 hour minimum on moving jobs.
